Dr. Rana Mady is committed to delivering compassionate, high quality comprehensive eye care. A native of northern New Jersey, Dr. Mady completed her undergraduate studies in Neuroscience, magna cum laude, at New York University. She obtained her medical degree at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, during which time she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She completed an Internship in Internal Medicine at Rutgers and an Ophthalmology residency at Georgetown University/Washington Hospital Center. She then elected to pursue a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Albany Medical Center where learned advanced surgical techniques in complex cataract surgery, corneal transplantation and laser vision correction (LASIK and PRK).
Her clinical interests include comprehensive ophthalmology, corneal diseases, dry eye, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. She performs cataract surgery, laser vision correction surgery (LASIK and PRK), pterygium excision, and partial and full thickness corneal transplants.
She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Cornea Society. She has been involved in multiple research projects that have led to presentations at national conferences and peer-reviewed publications.
On her time off she enjoys traveling, cycling and playing guitar. She speaks Arabic, French and Spanish.
