A partner at North Jersey Eye, Dr. Cecily Lesko is an honors graduate of Johns Hopkins University and Mount Sinai School of Medicine. While at Mount Sinai, she was elected to the Alpha Omega Honor Society and awarded the prestigious Arthur Aufses Senior Prize in Surgery. In addition, she served the hospital’s residency program in ophthalmology and surgical internship program.
Dr. Lesko is a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and The National Board of Medical Examiners. She is also a member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, AMA, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology as well as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In addition, Dr. Lesko has co-authored several research papers which have been published in professional ophthalmology journals. She is the past president of the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology and remains on their executive board. As a graduate of the American Academy of Ophthalmology prestigious Leadership Development Program she continues to serve the AAO as a councilor and member of the Surgical Scope committee. She has been recognized nationally as Advocacy Star.
On the staff of several area hospitals, Dr. Lesko remains on the teaching staff at the Mount Sinai Hospital and School of Medicine.
An avid sports fan, Dr. Lesko played collegiate Basketball at John Hopkins University. Today she is well known in the professional sports and media communities treating many local professional athletes, college coaches and television personalities. In addition, she works with former NFL quarterback and current CBS analyst Boomer Esiason on his foundation to fight Cystic Fibrosis.
Dr. Lesko traveled with The NBA’s Basketball without Boarders Program examining the eyes of children in orphanages in Africa. Most recently, Dr Lesko travelled to Myanmar (Burma) on a surgical mission to perform cataract surgery at Ayudana Monestary hospital in Saigon Hills.
